The All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) condemns the escalation of the war on
Gaza, Palestine by Israel. More than 4,500 people have already lost their lives and according to
reports, every 15 minutes one child is being killed due to Israeli bombings. Many hospitals, schools
and even UN shelters were subjected to Israeli attacks. The massacre carried out by Israel is supported
by the US and its allies.
Israel is blatantly committing war crimes and violating many UN resolutions with impunity. It is not
ready to even allow the requisite amount of relief material to be sent to the suffering people in Gaza.
Medicines, fuel, food and water are all in severe shortage. Various types of contagious diseases like
cholera, chickenpox, scabies are spreading fast.
Reports point out that Israel is about to launch a ground offensive on Gaza, create a ‘buffer zone’
within Gaza, and/or occupy Gaza strip once again. Any of these moves will be counterproductive and
will only lead to further escalation and spread of the war. Already Israel has bombed airports in Syria
and certain cities in Lebanon. These acts seriously threaten world peace and jeopardise all attempts
to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
AIPSO joins the millions of voices demonstrating for an immediate ceasefire and a stop to the war
on Gaza. A permanent solution can be found only when Israel is forced to adhere to UN resolutions
on Palestine, accept the Statehood of Palestine with pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem as the
capital. Protests against Israeli attacks are being held around the world, demonstrating people’s
support and concern for Palestine. AIPSO calls upon its units to once again come out on 1st November
in protest against the escalating war on Gaza, Palestine and appeals for immediate restoration of
peace.
